Meet our inaugural Hayman Scholarship winner, Queenesther Nyah, Christiana High School, Class of 2024. Nyah graduated 5th in her class with a 4.+ GPA and will pursue a degree in biological sciences at DSU with future plans to attend medical school.

The award was presented by Branch leaders, Steven Davis and Susan Mitchell with CHS Principal Tom Malinowski and CSD Superintendent Dr. Dan Shelton present.

NEWARK,DE NAACP ROLL TO THE POLLS
Newark, DE NAACP Religious Affairs & Community Coordination Committees
The Newark Branch of the NAACP is organizing “ROLL to the POLLS.” Providing transportation for individuals that want to vote in this very crucial election and may need assistance getting to the polling site. This service will be offered for FREE on election day for the Delaware Primary and General Elections. Registration is required. Please complete the registration information below and email the information to newarkdenaacp@gmail.com OR contact our Committee Chair, Rev. Dr. Blaine Hackett at 302-530-7422

Election Dates:
September 10, 2024: State Primary Election; polls open from 7 a. m. to 8 p.m.; Deadline to register is August 27.
November 5, 2024: General Election polls open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Deadline to register is October 22.

GENERAL HYBRID MEETINGS OF THE BRANCH are normally the 4th Wednesday of the month at 7:00p.m.except the months of November & December. Those will be on the 3rd Wednesday

 

Important note about joining via National website

If you want to join online via the National NAACP website, PLEASE make sure you indicate that your ADULT MEMBERSHIP request is for the NEWARK BRANCH #2355-B, age 25 and up.

 

The GREATER NEWARK YOUTH COUNCIL (ages 0-24) number is #27-AB. 

 

Please also be aware that your membership may take longer to process, including the appropriate unit receiving your local dues portion.
